Baggelboy illustration

A couple of weeks ago I had a nice email from illustrator Alan Rogerson, otherwise known as Baggelboy. Great work, and a really strong style. For me though it’s the concepts and, sometimes dark, humour behind some of his pieces that floats my boat.

From London, Baggelboy studied illustration at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. Finding the medieval town suited him, he stayed and is now freelancing. Baggelboy cites some of his influences as vintage illustrations and lots of television along with the German painter and printmaker Otto Dix. I also think there is an element of David Shrigley in the surreal element of the scenarios.

If you like what’s here then you are in luck. There is a website! Good stuff hey? Here you can look at more illustrations and even buy stuff. My favourite is the politician mug, the illustration lending itself brilliantly to this format, would be nice to see Dave with one.
